Stand Up Paddleboarding
Stand up paddlesboards (SUPs) can be used on all of the sessions and courses shown below.
The price of the ‘Come and Try’ session includes equipment hire; for all other sessions equipment hire is not included in the price. We have some equipment we can hire directly (see here for prices) and we work with local hire companies where appropriate to make sure you have everything you need.
Please note that buoyancy aids are mandatory for all kayakers and canoeists, and advisory for paddleboarders.
We’ll assume that you’re happy paddling standing up on flat water. From there we’ll look in more depth at forward paddling and turning, ensuring that your stroke work is as efficient and as effective as possible – including how to get the board running straight without having to paddle on both side. You’ll understand how paddleboarding is an all body workout and not just for the arms. We’ll touch on some basic safety issues, such as where on the river to paddle and how to assist another paddleboarder.
