Introduction to Paddleboarding on the Sea
This session is for people who are comfortable paddling on flat water such as the Hamble, Itchen or Basingstoke Canal and would like to start taking their paddleboard on the sea.
We'll start from Warsash and head towards the mouth of the Hamble and then into Southampton Water. This is an excellent venue for the first step into coastal journeys and paddling on the sea.
As well as looking at how to adapt your paddling for this more dynamic environment we'll also cover some of the topics that come into play when paddling on busy rivers and the sea - so for example the meaning of the various buoys and how to use a tidal stream atlas.
